Lesson 1: Debugging: Unspotted Bugs

This lesson is the same as the first Lesson of Course A. My comment there was about using bug flash cards to talk about real bugs. The first graders loved talking about the bugs that they know about the “friendly” ones, as well as those that bite! I used the word “SPOT” quite a bit as we talked about what happens if you don’t spot a bug right away. The transition to spotting computer bugs was very easy with the “Unspotted Bugs” story. They also helped me debug my marble run, which I made by using magnets and cardboard tubes and a cup on my white board. Overall a great lesson. And I left them thinking about making their own marble runs next Coding Class.
