Make text disappear?

I have had multiple students ask me this question and I’ve never had an answer for them. They want to make text created with drawing commands disappear when a condition is met. Up to this point, students have just created a rectangular sprite that can appear over the text using the visible property, but I know there has to be a better way to do it. Can anyone help me here?
