# Can web lab editing tool be customized?

My students noticed that in the videos for web lab in CSD Unit 2 the editor is a black background with white text. However when they work in web lab it is a white background with black text. Can this be customized to match the videos?

Hi Michelle,

Originally the editor had a black background, but it was really hard to read, especially when projected onto a screen for the class to see, so we changed it to a white background. There’s no way within Web Lab to toggle this setting. It hasn’t been a priority to change the videos to match the current interface, so right now they are out of sync.

Can you say more about why you prefer the black background?
