# &quot and &amp displaying as pink code

My students are using the &quot tag to put quotes on their webpages and &amp to add an &, however, it is displaying as pink code which is usually a sign that something is wrong. I am attaching an image

Try adding a ; after the code. Those should start with the & and end with a ; (semi-colon).
