Students do not need to complete the instructions to receive a completion indicator

I am noticing that students can receive a “completed” indicator in a level even if they don’t make any changes on the page. I am using the Teacher Dashboard Progress screen to monitor students and award credit, but that seems to not be the appropriate way to accomplish this.

Please advise how I am supposed to supervise and assess student understanding and skill.

This is a difference between CSD and Fundamentals. Web Lab and Game Lab do not check for accuracy in order to turn the bubble green. One of the things that makes CSD appropriate for middle school is the authentic choice in the content and the way they structure and style it. This makes it hard for the bubbles to indicate correctness. I’ve seen people on the forum talking about how they keep track of it all. Check out this thread for some ideas: http://forum.code.org/t/how-are-you-grading/10773
