For 7 years I taught third grade. Then moved to the middle school and taught ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies in grades 6-8 for four years.

In 2015, when our school could not find a CTE teacher, I was asked if I would like to make a move in that direction. I got started with a conditional certificate and taught digi-tools, Robotics, and Game Design.

Today, I teach Computer Science Discoveries I and II to seventh and eighth graders suburban South Puget Sound. Since moving to CSD from “digi-tools” I feel like kids are more engaged and see the relevance in what they are doing as they build website, games, apps and program hardware. I still teach Robotics and Game Design as well, but enjoy my CSD classes the best.
