A question came up while facilitating a code.org workshop regarding the choice in bit sizes in lessons of Unit 5: Why doesn’t Code.org just use the standard 8-size byte that is introduced when the ASCii is introduced? Teachers found it confusing when there was 4, 8 and once a 7 bit strip in a lesson.
