please tell me how can i explain turn left and turn right keys to students in course c lesson 4
Hi @sehrishhamad22!
The key is to realize that “left” and “right” are in relation to the direction the character is facing. It can be helpful to have students stand up and act each step out. When turning left or right, you stay in the same spot but change the direction you are facing. Moving forward means to move one step in the direction you are currently facing. A strategy for the classroom is to have students follow a program with their bodies, which can be done individually or as a class.
In other contexts (Logo) I have found it helpful to use a small paper triangle with a ‘nose/beak’ and L and R labels on it. When you line it up on the screen with your sprite - eg pointing downwards - the left and right can make a bit more sense to children.
