CSD Can the circuit playground get a certain frequency with the sound sensor

Is there a way for the sound sensor to “sense” a certain frequency. I have a student that is trying to make a guitar tuner and want the board to light up if the guitar is player the correct frequency. for example: if (“Get frequency”) = 82, then stuff lights up. 82 is the frequency of low E string.
I think the sound sensor only senses volume, but was just wondering.

Unfortunately no, the sound sensor is a pretty blunt instrument and can really just tell you volume.
