I’m wondering if there is another video that we could use instead of this one. There are a couple things I don’t like about the video. 1 the image of a half naked women in the background easily distracted my students. 2 the part where he bleeps out the swear word, it’s disturbing. I would like another option to show instead of that video. I like the point it makes but not that specific video.
I see the description for this lesson says: “Starting with an exploration of the song “Happy Birthday” and its history of copyright protection,” but I am not seeing this in the actual lesson plan. It looks like it was replaced with scenarios.
I was just noticing the same thing. When I print all Unit 2 as PDF’s (https://curriculum.code.org/csd/unit2.pdf) it shows the birthday video but on the lesson plan on the main page (https://studio.code.org/s/csd2) it has a different video. It’s a little confusing. Maybe they just didn’t get it updated in both places. Anyway I will not be showing that video I will be doing the scenarios instead next time around.
@msummers - Sorry about that. Looks like we updated the lesson plan online but did not also make sure the PDF matched. I have now updated it so the PDF will match the online lesson. Thanks for letting us know about the issue.
