Implementation of AI Curriculum grades 3 through 7

I am curious if someone from code.org could give me an outline of what is the best way to teach grades 3 through 7, an introduction to AI. With each grade level, the objectives are becoming more technical. This is the first time this district has allowed me to teach what and how to use AI. I am very familiar with the fundamentals and Discoveries as I have been teaching some of these to each grade level. I saw the workshops available over the summer but am still unsure what I should sign up for to get the best information. Six years ago, I was at a workshop that was 5 days long in another city. I was there and learned so much. Any information would be helpful.

Thank You!

Hi @jennifer.dominick ,

Thank you so much for bringing your question to the forum as I’m sure other teachers are facing similar curriculum changes that you are. I would first start with finding workshops in your area. Since your focus is on AI, you may want to find workshops on the course AI Foundations.

The AI foundations course may be above the rigor that you are looking for since it is geared toward students in the 9-12 grade.

You can find individual modules in the course catalog and set the filters for the grades you want and the topic that you want (artificial intelligence).

Hope this is a good start for you!

Best,

-Sam
