Adding Images to HTML Using a Link

When teaching Web Development (CSD Unit 2) in the past, students were able to copy and paste a link in order to add images to their web page. It appears that in the 25-26 curriculum, they can only upload from their computers. Our students store files on the Google Drives (in the cloud), so this kinda creates a headache and additional steps to teach them how to add items to and retrieve items from their hard drives (the old-fashioned way from the good ole days, ya know! lol).

Any input on what happened? Any suggestions on shortcuts for this?

There is a way, but it may be more work than teaching them how to download the photo and put it in code.org

My source for this information is here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15557392/how-do-i-display-images-from-google-drive-on-a-website/34994471#34994471

They click on the image in their drive and share it with anyone with the link first. Then they copy that link. The link itself then needs to be changed. In the example below, the thumbnail?id= has been added to the sharing url and everything after the file id has ben changed as well.

It may be more work than it’s worth but I guess it is possible.

Seeing your example completely reminded me about this method! Thank you! And I am most appreciative of your quick response.
