Google Classroom is a big help.
It allows the student to see what is going on in the regular classroom.
Even though they are in an alternative setting, they feel as if they are still connected to their teacher and classmates. It builds community while they are not there.
It also allows the instructor to see examples of the classwork and have a better idea of what each teacher is asking of the class.
