I want to test a lesson and experience what the student is experiencing

I am new to code.org, and I’m excited about what it has to offer. I’m in the CSA lesson, and I want to try this with my high school students. I want to try out the JavaScript lab. I went to “student resources” and clicked on Level 1 to see if I could try to walk through the lesson myself, by manipulating the javascript code and following the instructions. However, it appears I only have View Access to the javascript file. Is there a way I can go in and pretend I’m a student and go through the lesson? Thank you!

On the first program for each lesson, the “Predict and Run”, you have to type something in the box in the Instructions panel in the top left before you can run it. You aren’t really supposed to do any programming on this first one anyways, the 2nd program on, “Investigate and Modify” is when you can start typing code.

Hi Joshua,
I think that TClark’s answer probably helped you out with this issue of view only levels vs. editable levels.

FYI, some teachers want to keep their login they open with students unworked so they can live code during class. To do this, you can have another code.org account with a different email address. You can join your sections that have your students in them or even create a different classroom section all together and join that with another email.

Please reach out on the forum as you work through the content, we are here to support you!

Best,
Lindsay
