Is it possible to make selected lessons visible to individual students instead of the entire class? I have students that are gifted and trust to work ahead.

I don’t think that is possible (other forum users please chime in if I’m wrong!)
One workaround could be to create another section for those students and to have them in that section that has more lessons visible.
