Second time around--notes on improvements the second time teaching this course


I divided the kids up into 11 groups and assigned articles. Some urls had changed a bit, but we were able to find the articles or something very similar. For the sharing I projected a count-down timer and allowed 4 minutes per group; at the end of 4 minutes the “listening” group would then summarize their article to the initial “explaining” group. Worked well–kids read 1/11 articles but walked out of the room knowing at least a little about 4.
