U4 Day 17: Lesson Resources
When teaching students about box plots and histograms, it’s important for the students to be able to identify how the whiskers affects the distribution of the data. A uniformly distributed data set will have equal length whiskers, a symmetrically peaked data set will also have congruent whiskers. However a unimodal data set will have 1 whisker bigger than the other. A larger lower whisker corresponds to left-skewed data.
