Certificates show “Hour of AI” for non-AI activity — is the legacy Hour of Code certificate still available?

Hi code .org team,

Today I led a group of students through this activity: https://studio.code.org/courses/hello-world-animals-2021/units/1/lessons/1

At the end of the session, I generated and printed certificates for them. However, the certificates read: “for successful completion of the Hour of AI.” That was surprising (and a bit awkward), because this particular lesson didn’t involve any AI concepts or practice—we were doing a classic Hour of Code–style coding activity.

I understand code .org has transitioned the traditional Hour of Code branding to “Hour of AI” for the 2025–2026 school year. Still, it seems important to support cases like this where teachers are running non-AI coding activities and need certificates that accurately reflect what students completed.

Could you please clarify:

  • Is there still a way to generate the legacy “Hour of Code” certificate?

  • If not, could the certificate wording be adjusted to better match the specific course/lesson (or offer a non-AI certificate option)?

Thanks in advance for looking into this and for all the resources you provide.

Best regards,
Alex
