Code.org Website

Did anyone notice Web lab is stripping javascript out of projects? When did this start happening? It wasn’t doing it 2 months ago (March 2021). Any word from the devs? My projects are dead in the water now! :rage: Does anyone have a solution for making HTML, CSS, JS projects, now?

Yup, I just saw that. Iframes were disabled as well (semi-replaced with embed tag).

Codepen.io might be a good alternative

FYI - The code will not be deleted until you try to edit it. If you have a file you would like to preserve, you can load it up, copy the HTML, then move it to a new site. Once you start editing though, it will delete the tags

Thank you. At least I know I’m not doing something wrong. As for why they would deliberately make that change… I just don’t get it. I had projects I wanted my students to work on in Code.org, and now that’s toast. Code pen is good for demoing certain concepts, but I don’t believe you can upload any assets. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m going to try out https://www.repl.it . Wish me luck!

Yeah, I’m not sure about loading assets. You can also try glitch.com. I think that provides a bit more flexibility.

I’m not sure on the specifics, but I believe the change was made due to a security vulnerability.
