Last year the “assignments” were assigned automatically.
When I look at my students progress the two flags are grayed out and I cant figure out a way to let my student access them.

Welcome to the forum! I found this support article about Extra Lessons. The article is a bit dated however. My dashboard no longer looks like the dashboard in the article. If it does not help you, let us know what course and what version you are asking about so we can dig a little deeper.
