Work in Media Center during lunch
Offer after-school time especially during big projects or end of unit projects
Make sure all pre-planning is completed prior to working on code.org
Checkout a Chromebook to take home; offer time to come in before/after school to have tech time
Encourage them to attend extended day or academic support (lunch support)
Our group discussed that it isn’t fair to penalize kids for not having access to internet/computer use at home, so we do not assign homework. There are library hours for before/after school computer use, but coding should happen in the class.
To build on what tsain shared, I give students times (lunch/after school) where they can come in to finish and/or make-up any unfinished work for my CS classes.
