I am teaching an introduction to CS using CS discoveries to 9th graders. I have several students who come into the class proficient in coding so I would like to have them work on levels independently and more quickly. I import my classes from google classroom so they can log in with google.
I am wondering if there is a way of taking a subgroup of a class and opening levels only for them.
I am also open to other ideas if you have tried something different, I would like to give my more proficient coders a positive experience in the class and help elevate their current knowledge as well.
TIA!
Hi Carla,
From what I have experienced, if you have a section that is set to login using google classroom, the course and levels open to them must all be the same.
You could try creating another section on Code.org and using a join code for those students. Then share that join code to that section with the students you wish to be in that subgroup. They will then be able to be in multiple sections at once- one from the main group and another from the sub group. You might need to test it out but this is what I would try
Best,
Lindsay
Thank you! I ended up doing just that and it seems to be working out well so far…
Thank you again, I appreciate your time!
