Making screen recordings from home - Ideas?

As my students are getting to the point where they are going to need to make 1 minute videos, I am not sure of the best path forward. In class, all of my students use the same software, Quicktime, on our Macs. At home they are all on so many different devices that I would like to make one or two clear suggestions. Does anyone have thoughts to share on this. My students are on a variety of Mac, PC, and Chromebook machines.

@cmcgowan There are a number of free resources available:
Windows:
Windows 10 has Gamebar
Active Presenter is free
Tech Smith
Loom

Apple:
QuickTime Player
Use Shift-Command-5 in MacOS

Web (Chromebooks:)
Screencast-O-Matic
Screen Recorder - Google Chrome

There are just a few of the many. I welcome the community to add more.

I also like the Loom Chrome extension. You’d just have to remind students to turn off the front facing camera bubble.

If students are on iOS devices they can also record their screen with/without sound through their phone/tablet by following these steps.

Another one you can use is Screencastify
