Minimal Spanning Trees

I found that when I did the Muddy City problem, it worked better when I let the students try it on their own first, then I had them get in small groups to discuss each others solutions. This worked well so no one was siphoning off someone else’s work. When finished, we discussed how this would be useful for different types of jobs. I showed them the “Why UPS Trucks don’t turn left” video - this created a great discussion with my students.
