I need time to learn how to use AI tools effectively and create good prompts.
I struggled to get the LLM to be critical in the email that I prompted it to write for me. I wanted it to discuss some of the challenges that the student was experiencing and express the problems that the student was facing. The LLM did, however, capture the concern of the message I wanted to communicate with the parent. It did not a succeed in capturing the topic and only focused on superficially introducing the teacher to the parent but the formatting of the email was very professional. That was the only success. The LLM was also willing to change and adjust the prewritten email to fit my preferences.
Challenge: Using AI transparently with students, clearly explaining when and why it is used.
Success: When implemented thoughtfully, AI can support better teaching outcomes while reinforcing critical thinking, ethical awareness, and digital literacy skills students will need in the future.
The challenge was including the missing assignments for each student and the success was the coaching chatgpt provided. The example.
The challenge is wrong prompting to AI and success is that its made my life easier.
One challenge I had was making sure the AI-generated response sounded natural and personal instead of overly robotic. One success I had was seeing how quickly AI could help create a professional starting point that I could easily adjust for my classroom needs.
I wanted to show my students an explanation of a technical typography procedure, and the generative model suggested creating an image. It produced a complex infographic that looked very interesting at first glance, but upon checking the details, I realized it contained several errors. The biggest mistake, however, was mine: the task was highly specific, and I hadn’t provided the model with any adequate reference sources to draw from. I learned that to get accurate content on specialized topics, simply asking isn’t enough; you need to guide the model by providing the right sources and documentation.
