Pre-Survey Anonymous

This is kind of a scary question. I see on the survey you ask if students feel accepted, comfortable, etc. in school, class, etc. In light of the recent school shooting, if a teacher suspects a student has some issues, does code.org know whose account answered the questions? We do have a student assistance program in place, but I was just wondering. Thanks

Code.org is technically able to find out whose account answered a question but we value students’ trust so do not share this information with anyone. That being said, there are exceptions. We review requests on a case-by-case basis and may share the information with a teacher or appropriate authorities if we have a good-faith and reasonable belief that the answer indicates the student may harm themselves or others.

Thank you for the response and explanation. Let’s hope none of us ever have to exercise this action. Best regards
