Recruiting Teachers for a Java Assessment Pilot!

If you’re teaching AP CSA this year and are interested in exploring resources for preparing and assessing students’ preparedness for the AP CSA Exam, we’d love to hear from you!

We are looking for teachers from a variety of different teaching contexts to pilot a Java Assessment we are developing to help us understand how we can assess skill acquisition and preparedness for the AP CSA Exam. Our Java Assessment will follow the same structure as the AP CSA Exam and provide instant feedback about students’ level of proficiency for each of the topics and Computational Thinking Skills outlined in the AP Computer Science A Curriculum Framework. We are particularly interested in teachers who teach a diverse student population.

What are the requirements?

You will:

  • Attend a 1-hour Zoom call in March to receive training for administering the Java Assessment
  • Administer the Java Assessment in April
  • Share results on the Java Assessment with the Code.org CSA curriculum team
  • Share results on the AP CSA Exam with the Code.org CSA curriculum team

The results and feedback we collect from this group will be critical in ensuring that our Java Assessment is a strong indicator of students’ skill acquisition and preparedness for the AP CSA Exam. Participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

Submit your interest on this form to let us know that you are interested in participating in this pilot. The interest form for the Code.org Java Assessment Pilot will close on March 1st, 2023, so sign up today!
