My 8th graders are quickly losing stamina with the way nearly every lesson in Unit 3 is programming-based. Does anyone have resources/plans for other lessons to supplement Unit 3 and space out these lessons a little more? Thanks!

This is a great question and I would love to hear everyone’s ideas for how they perk up their students in a coding-heavy unit. For my part, I tend to break up sections with partner work followed by coming back together. I often include seat changes or give reasons for students to get out of their seats and move around. Sometimes I’ll put help information on posters that are just small enough to force them to get up and walk over to them to see them. I’ve heard other teachers say they plan in brain breaks for the whole class.
