Calling Experienced Computer Science Teachers

I have a student completing a STEM distinction, they’ve landed on app development and hope to build an app as their keystone project. I am a newly converted CS teacher and only have the code.org knowledge (for now).

Do you have any suggestions I can pass on to this students for courses, online or in-person?

Specifically they are looking to pick up Swift and SwiftUI to program apps for iOS.

If you have any recommendations please let me know!

THANK YOU!!!

If they’re wanting to learn Swift the best place to start is probably with Swift Playgrounds. It’s an iPad app that has dozens of tutorials for beginners, and it lets you share your test apps with others. Just be prepared that if you’re used to CDO’s version JavaScript, then Swift will look pretty different and it might be hard to help with debugging.
