My high school teaches the Computer Science Discoveries curriculum in an intro course to 9th and 10th graders and AP CS Principles to 11th and 12th graders. I am in Illinois. I need to verify that we are teaching the IL CS standards for 9-10 and 11-12 grade. Is there a document that shows these standards aligned to both of these courses?
https://www.isbe.net/Documents/Illinois-Computer-Science-Standards.pdf → page 8-12 are the standards that I need aligned. Thought I would check before creating on my own. Thank you!
Sort of - IL went and modified the CSTA standards and reworded the age grouping.
CSTA 3A is for 9 and 10 and 3B is for 11 and 12.
Compare CS Principles Unit 4 Lesson 5. Both are for 9 and 10:
CSTA 3A-AP-15 - Justify the selection of specific control structures when tradeoffs involve implementation, readability, and program performance and explain the benefits and drawbacks of choices made.
Illinois 9-10.AP.15 Justify the selection of specific control structures when tradeoffs involve
implementation, readability, and program performance, and explain the benefits and
drawbacks of choices made.
