Hello, we are hosting Hour of Code at our school.
We have a “house” system, similar to that of Harry Potter.
How to do activities and challenges that could then be worth points.
what activities have any of you done here that are really fun and interesting for students.
Do any of you have any out-of-the-box suggestions or projects that might be fun for Hour of Code
thanks!
Jack
That sounds like so much fun! If it’s limited to just that one hour, you could motivate students to complete different Hour of Code activities by assigning them different House Points values based on their difficulty level. However, this might reward people who are experienced with coding rather than newcomers, so you might also consider it being a flat number of house points for completing any activity.
Depending on the students’ age, you can incorporate tools such as Circuit Playground, micro:bit, or Makey Makey and reward creativity.
Please update this post when you decide what to do so the rest of us can draw inspiration from your ideas!
Thanks,
Michael K.
