I started with Unit 4, what should I teach next?

Hello fellow Teaching Fam,

So I began teaching for another teacher who left, the curriculum he was using stopped working at our school - COMPTIA (also it was very boring for the kids, but they had an update where every student was unable to get back in).

I came in and continued with Code.org, and am currently teaching Unit 4 (It is so amazing that I don’t feel like skipping any lesson. We just completed all the lessons for the grandkids app, and tomorrow my students will come back with user interviews from their communities to start prototyping their own app.

My question is, now that January is over, and May (the end of school) is close. Which units should I teach next?

Hi @kanwel

Oh gosh - there is no right answer here. It sort of depends on your focus and what the kids are interested in. A great tool for you to look at to help decide is the implementation guide. There are pacing guides in the guide that can tell you how long each unit should last. There are also suggested implementations based on interest (creativity or data or coding, etc).

I would probably teach Unit 3 simply because students make games and really enjoy the Unit. Then I might ask students if they want to make web pages (Unit 2) or learn about AI

Good luck!
