Is there a way to prevent students to move on to a new lesson?

As a teacher, in your dashboard look for your class name, in the center column you will see the unit assigned.
Click the assigned unit
You can make the units invisible or visible as you see fit

You can hide an entire lesson. See picture below. If the lesson is hidden, it appears as a dotted box
