New Feature REQUEST for APPLAB......RE :Create Task (Sharing A Program) for a Joint Account

RE: Create Task…Joint Account

In my opinion, turning on the current Sharing feature for my students is not the same as 2 partner/consultants working together on the same Create Task Code.

I wish there was a features in Applab where you can send an INVITE to a classmate and once they accept, you both have editing rights in the APPLAB Project.

We like creating/starting a project from scratch in Applab and not within a bubble.

Workaround: Currently, my students have to start one fake new Code.org account and they both share the same username and password to code. They know it is not like a google doc where you can code at the same time but it works well when coding when their partner/consulant is not coding.

I would like code.org to have a system for 2 students to share a stand alone APPLAB project and not give up their log in credentials.

Please Help Improve Code.org & Applab

In addition, after 10 years of teaching AP CSP,I now have close to a 1000 projects and Code.org has no SUB FOLDER Design Management. I have been asking for this feature for many years. It is beyond frustrating that the platform is not choosing to fix this issue.

I am tired of someone reading these suggestions and being told they will pass it on. I never hear any follow up about plans to change. It is very frustrating.

Hi @jkeays,

Your suggestions are good ones. I copied this post to the support page and chose “I’d like to request a feature”. It is a more direct route to get the information to the Code dot org team so they can gather data on these requests when planning updates to the software and curriculum.

One workaround we use for App Lab is that we split the tasks of a multi-screen app and then import into one of the apps and then share relevant code via email or Google Doc. I’m sure you’ve used this as well just wanted to share another workaround.
