I’m not sure which grade level you’re working with, but this curriculum worked well with my 7th graders and I know others who have used it in 9th & 10th as well: Event-Driven Programming in App Lab - Code.org

You could definitely use the Event-Driven Programming curriculum with HS students. You might also take a look at the Computer Science Principles curriculum too. This is geared specifically to high school students.
