This is my first year teaching Computer Science Discoveries and I have to create 2 SGO’s. I am just wondering if anyone has done an SGO for this course yet and can give some advice!

I’m assuming SGO is Student Growth Objectives? We used to have to do SLOs - Student Learning Objectives. I’m assuming they’re about the same thing. I don’t know if it helps, but I used to use HTML as an SLO assessment. I had a Google Form assessment that students would take as a pretest and post test. They always show tremendous growth since none of them have ever seen HTML. Is this the kind of thing you mean?

Its very similar it seems, but they are focusing on achievement not growth. My district is avoiding pre and post test. I believe they are actually wanting me to use a performance task (a project).
Wouldn’t the end of chapter projects in each unit serve as a performance task? I’ve not done assessment this way for the district requirements so I’m guessing.

Demara, welcome to the forum! I think @edavis was referring to the projects that are already at the end of each chapter that do make good performance tasks, but for this year’s course improvements, there are now post-project assessments that have been added to the course. Well - here I am - a year later - do you still have your SGO/SLO assessments? Just started a few weeks ago and this is what I need - thank you in advance! ; )
My district negotiated SLOs out so I haven’t had to do them in a while. I think this is the one I used.

We are doing “Simplified” ones - ?!?!?!?
I’m not sure I know what that means. We just went to using building level attribution. Everyone shares one another’s fate I suppose. I don’t know. All I know is it’s less paperwork!
