Turn off AI Tutor

How do I disable the AI tutor for the CSA curriculum?

I tried it last year and even though I tried to help students learn to use it to explain and problem-solve, they were over-reliant on it and struggled much more than in past years without access to it. Students struggled to use any notes or resources or problem-solve in any way without it and continuously failed assessments and got stuck. I want to keep it off for this upcoming school year.

Hi @rwest1 ! Thanks for bringing this question to the forum. I’m familiar with the AI teaching assistant that is provided to teachers but I can’t say I’m familiar with the AI Tutor for students. Would you mind including a screenshot of this tool?

AI Tutor is called out in the Unit 1 slide deck and it references an activity guide that has been removed from the lesson resources. The lesson slide deck has been revised and no longer has this called out, and only the alternative version of the activity guide is found in the lesson resources as of today.

I like the idea of this lesson and wish I could access the original version of the activity guide. My students have access to magicschool AI and I thought I could use that if the AI Tutor has been removed.

Hey @sean.glantz , I see what you are talking about now. Thank you for pointing this out. I was never able to find the AI tutor that was mentioned and when I taught the lesson. I did leave the curriculum team feedback by selecting the “Rate this lesson” button for this lesson on the Unit 1 landing page. If you wouldn’t mind doing the same I think the more mentions something gets the higher up the priority stack it will go. Thank you again for chiming in!
