+CSA (‘25-’26) Unit 2 Selection and Iteration end of unit projects don’t seem to be aligned with CED. It requires students to use data structures, polymorphism and inheritance. I love the project ideas. But I feel it is too soon to have them work on these projects after Unit 2. I was looking for something simpler with conditionals, string & loop manipulation. Does anyone have a smaller scale project that I can have students work on after the first 2 units. I would love an exemplar and a rubric to go with it. A Theater project would be great!

Thanks for reaching out on the forum! You are right in seeing that some of the resources in the CED aligned course aren’t aligned with what students have seen so far. I’m sorry, I know this is frustrating for teachers.
A place you could start looking for a Unit 2 project could be on AP classroom, the labs they have in the Course Guide are aligned with the topics that have been covered in the CED aligned course. The labs are at the bottom of the Course Guide page for each unit, here is a screenshot:
If you are wanting to stick with using the theater, you might try modifying the project that is in the objects first course unit 7. For this project students create a program of their choice using the theater. The lesson plan for this project is at this link, you would have to simplify some of the expectations since students will not have this much coding under their belts, but it could be a starting point if you wish to use the theater:
