What is the point of "pair programming" feature in Code.org

I feel like I am missing something. If the students can’t see each other’s work/code in “pair programming” what is the point of it? Like is the only reason for it to show the teacher that they worked with someone, and who it was? I obviously get the idea behind pair programming and believe in it. I just wonder about the point of having this feature if it doesn’t do anything for the student.

It kind of forces the students to use one computer. But, yeah but it mainly is for the teacher to know who are working together.

How do we know they are working together? I don’t see any indication.

Look at this documentation on pair programming. Hopefully, this will help.
