Paired Programming - Does it share code or just allow teacher to see who is working together

I had paired students for the Unit 6 Lesson 10 Project. Several students are now absent. Their partners say they cannot access the Paired Programming to continue since it was done on a different computer. Is this correct?

I guess I thought either person paired together could access it from a computer. If this is how it works, it is not very convenient in case of absences.

Unfortunately, it does not share code. It only shows progress made while coding with another student. It’s great as a teaching tool, but it doesn’t work for collaboration purposes (ie working on the same project together using different computers.).
