Hi everyone, my name is Steven Kahn. I will be teaching three sections of Algebra I, AP Computer Science, and Exploring Computer Science this coming school year at Esperanza High School in Anaheim, CA. This will actually be my very first year as a teacher. I previously completed my Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math at CSU Fullerton, and prior to that I earned my B.S. in Computer Science - after which I worked as a programmer. Last year I completed a full year of student teaching, primarily with 6th-8th graders. I am looking forward to getting some hands on training on how to teach this material effectively, as well as the opportunity to meet and network with other teachers. Aside from teaching, I have a passion for technology, music, and the great outdoors.
I have spent some time in Calvert County! Great that you are bringing computer science curriculum to your school!
Wow I bet you bring some excellent perspective to the classroom, having been involved with computers and seeing the evolution over the years. I am just getting into education, but I feel like things have changed so much even from when I was in high school! I really appreciate that sense of history that you must bring into the classroom - as many of my CS professors did.
I am Brock Foerch, I teach at North Chicago Community High School, and I enjoy computer games, anime, and watching a variety of sports.
Glad to have this space to collaborate and learn eclectic methods to spark the exciting language of computer science to students!
