I have a student that wants to change her sprites animation. She is using game lab. She can not find the add frames in the animation tab. -or- She is coding a game with a coin sprite. How would she code the coin to change colors continuously.
Darren,
Your student could do this two ways:
1.) Use the “project” Game Lab which has access to all the block and has the individual frames for the coin spinning on the Animation tab (Navigate to the Dashboard, then scroll down to “Projects” and select “Game Lab”)
2.) Copy the coin, change the color and then use the sprite.setanimation
block to the next coin of a color.
Hope that helps!
Brad
Once a student creates a animated sprite with frames in Game Lab are they able to transfer the created sprite to a different project?
Thank you,
Trent
Hello:
I have this same issue. I can get the frames from an multi-frame sprite and upload each individually into a student account, but I cannot find a way to combine these into an animated sprite. There is no center pane with a ‘Add a frame’ button.
Can students create multi-frame sprites?
Thank you,
JohnP
If you don’t see the add new frame button, you may want to reach out to support@code.org and have them look at the account. I just opened my game lab and an animation tab and I can see that button …

Hello:
Thanks for the reply. I definitely see those buttons/options in my account. However, I created classes and assign accounts to students. When I go into one of their accounts (logged in as them), those buttons don’t appear.
I’m starting to think that this is a feature that is restricted for these classroom accounts.
Perhaps time to contact code.org.
