How do we track progress? Is it necessary for students to log in?

Hi,

We’re getting ready to start off with CSD 1.1. I am setting up my students with user profiles and then we build boats etc.

Is there any purpose to having the students log in for this ‘unplugged’ activity? There does not seem to be a way to track their progress (whether a given student has completed the challenge etc.) Where is that done?

I am accustomed to the code.org site tracking progress as in the CS Fundamentals challenges.

Seems like we should skip the potential intersection of laptops and buckets of water in the classroom today…

I don’t even break out the computers until we actually need them. We have finished the first unit and haven’t yet had the students sign up on code.org. I like not having computers unless we really need them.
