So, it seems that Google and Wikipedia has gotten the jump on us as far as the Northwest Tree Octopus. Now, when you search for it, Wikipedia has a page indicating the website is a hoax.

• dhmo.org (although this one is being outed by Wkipedia as well)
• fulkerson.org/ancestors/buyanancestor.html (buy ancestors online)
• allaboutexplorers.com (looks SUPER real, encourages students to fact check, they say Christopher Columbus was born in 1951)
• The Onion
• zapatopi.net/afdb/ (Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie)

Thanks for this! I heard about the All About Explorers site when I went to the CSD conference this summer. I am curious if anyone had created an activity guide to go along with this site. I find my students get way to goofy with the animals.
