My students are completing Unit 9 lesson 9 “Creative Coding with The Theater Project.” Many students are trying elaborate ideas and running into issues with “running out of memory.” The error is: “Your code hit an exception while it was running.
Exception message: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space.” They have already eliminated sound files and reduced the sizes of their pictures (assets). Here is one example. Are there troubleshooting ideas or best practices I can relay to my students to help them create a running program? Will code.org consider increasing the memory allotment for this lesson to accommodate more involved projects?
