Hi! I’m Sherry. I am a certified teacher in Texas for PK-12 (depending on subject) and I have been teaching for over 15 years. I am in my 2nd year of teaching coding to 7th & 8th graders. I teach Information Technology & Computer Science classes with Code.org.

Hello everyone, my name is Yetunde Olasoji. I am from Nigeria and I teach key stage 2 students computing and also train educators on how to use tools that will keep or make them relevant 21st century educators. I am interested in code.org because of way they have simply coding for youths.

I always used this platform to introduce my students to the world of coding. The hour of code has always done the magic for me.

Hi there! My name is Maryjo Green. I live (and work) in the Edmonds School District in Edmonds, WA. I currently am a K-6 Substitute Teacher, but most recently had a long-term substitute position in 1st Grade, so that’s the grade I’ll use for the purposes of this training. :slight_smile: I got my Master’s in Teaching in Technology…many, many years ago. My name is Marcos Alba and I am a Special Education teacher in LAUSD, California. I work with students with moderate-to-severe disabilities and I have been teaching for the past 6 years at the same school site. The Computer Science Fundamentals course has been very fun and I can’t wait to start exploring a new course with my students as lead learner. The concept of being a lead learner is like a load off of my shoulders because this role allows me to learn along with my students and not have to be an expert in computer science. I have a fun journey ahead!

My name Zaira Augusto and live and work in Los Angeles, CA and I work for Los Angeles Unified School district. I currently teach special need students, specifically students with Autism. I am interested in coding and teaching my students how to code because I want to expose them to a new topic and provide them with something that can become more. Perhaps coding can help them in other ways traditional paper and pencil can’t.

I am participating in a professional development course focused on computer sciences and would like to experience this learning with others. I have very little experience with teaching computer sciences and am excited to learn more about implementing this resource in my classroom.

My favorite ice cream flavor changes depending on the day, but I usually tend towards fruity flavors with the justification that if it has fruit then it is healthy.
