Welcome to CS Discoveries: Introduce yourself

I will be using CS Discoveries with my 7th and 8th grade technology class. I am new to these grade levels. I have use the Course A,B,C and D for K-5 and really enjoyed thoses lessons.

I am coming back to the classroom after 8 years as an administrator. I will be teaching a 7/8 grade unit on Computer Exploration and 9-10 grade Computer Applications. I will use CS Discoveries in both and looking forward to integrating the new features since I was last in the classroom.

My name is Christopher Donegan. I teach Computer Applications and Keyboarding to 9-12 students in a rural district in SW Missouri. My goal with code.org training is to challenge my students and prepare them for CS work right after high school.

Hi, my name is Jason Ballesteros. I teach grade 4 to grade 8 STEAM and CS. I will be teaching unit 1,2 and 3. I am excited to teach Unit 3.

Hi, I’m Alyssa. I teach grade levels 5-12 and I am planning on doing Units 1-3 this year at least. I’m excited about Unit 3 the most, since I’ve never done it before!

My name is Anna. I teacher 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I will be teaching Unit 1 and 3 for CS Discoveries. I’m most excited for my students to create their own mini projects.

Kathie White. I am a math teacher and will be teaching grade 7 in a STEAM cluster. I hope to work on debugging if my students need help with any of their coding. This class was awesome!

My name is Debbie Fratus. I will be teaching 6th and 7th graders in Fall 2025. For 6th grade, I will be teaching Units 1 & 2. For 7th graders, I will be teaching Units 3 & 4. I am excited about the multiple resources available to me as a new teacher. I am also excited about the AI Assistant.

Hi, my name is Melien (Maria) Lavoie, I am hoping to teach Middle School in the Fall either as a CS/DL teacher or as an ESL teacher using CS/DL to teach ELL students.
I am thinking of teaching the Minecraft: Voyage Aquatic to a test group of my son’s Middle School friends. Then in the Fall, possibly the “Focus on Impact in Society” that includes unit 1, 4, 5, and 7.
In CS Discoveries I am most excited about unit 7.

I will be teaching 6th and 7th graders, and am excited to learn right along with them since I have very little background with this subject.
