Hi, I am Shannon DeSantis Gile. I am a middle/high school librarian in Vermont and I am teaching the CS Express course to 7th and 8th graders in the fall. I’ll have students quarterly so my hope is to also integrate a weekly visit to the library for bookish things and choice coding activities. I took some coding classes a few years ago through our local Create Make Learn Institute and I am excited to finally put my learning into action!

My name is Karen. I am a middle school business & technology teacher. I will be teaching CS Discoveries to 7th & 8th graders this year. We will be going through Units 4, 5 & 6.

Still trying to figure out what I am going to teach. I only have my students a semester before I get a new bunch.
I think all will be interesting.

This is my first year Teaching CS Discoveries so I’m not sure about the last two questions yet!!

Hi all - I am Carol and I teach at Southern Okanagan Secondary School in Oliver, BC, Canada.
This year I am teaching grade 8-10 Information Technology and am planning to use CS Discoveries to thread some consistency through the three courses! I haven’t decided how yet, but I am digging into the curriculum for BC and the CSD program.

I am excited about learning with the students as I have a Science background, but limited computer science - lifelong learning indeed.

Thanks in advance for the support and problem solving help

Carol
