@paul.barker Welcome to the forum! This will be a great resource for you as you start your new chapter!

Hi there, I’m Sadhana. I’m from South Africa. I’m a mathematics teacher, in a very progressive private school, Ashton International college, Ballito. We are introducing coding into our curriculum and I am extremely excited to show value to our students through this amazing platform. I have limited lessons but I’m hoping for unlimited excitement from my students and I’m hoping to maximize my time with assigning lessons on the platform for the students to complete at home. This way they would be exposed to more of the product. It’s such an exciting opportunity. Thank you, code.org, gosh, your team are just magical.

Hi, my name is Kobina, I am starting a coding club in my community in Ghana with kids from age 7 through to High School kids. I am excited about the enormous support code.org offers and the resources provided. I am most excited about the various platforms and labs my students can practice with.

Hi! my name is Carla, I am a software engineer. In the last 6 years I have been teaching CS. in a school and in my own academy. This year I will teach to 9th level students. I am planning to reinforce loops, conditionals, events, and use the code.org plan give us.

Welcome to the forum! You’re in the right place to help find support in your CS classes.

Howdy folks! My name is Mike Smothers and I currently teach 8th grade science and a high school astronomy class at St. George’s Independent School in Collierville, TN, USA.

Next year I’ll add to that by teaching CS Discoveries for a section of 7th and 8th grade students as an elective course. We’re structuring the class so students can sign up for either just the fall semester (Units 1-3) or both fall and spring semesters (Units 1-6).

Pre-COVID, I used to include a unit with Python programming in my 8th grade science class. We started with programming in Scratch and then worked our way up to students using Python to create graphs of the data they collected in experiments.

I had to drop the programming unit out of the class because of COVID limitations, so I’m excited to be getting back to teaching programming. The amount of resources and support available for teaching CS Discoveries is AMAZING!! Everything about the course looks exciting and I’m looking forward to teaching it!

I love the energy! Welcome to the forum. Sounds like this will be a great place for you to both gather and share information.

My name is Billie Wildman, I teach 9-12 math. I don’t plan on teaching CS Discoveries next year. I am being trained this summer in Principles and AP CSA, so I decided to do this training to get ready for those. Unit 7 interests me due to running the robotics club at the school.

Well we’re glad to have you, Billie! The forum is a great resource for CSP too!

Hey everyone! I’m Nicole Clark. I teach 5th and 6th grade STEAM. I am unsure which lessons I will teach. I plan to follow the curriculum with my 6th graders who I will see every day for around 40-45 minutes but I will only have them for a semester. I am most excited about Unit 3, which seems to be very popular.

Hola mi nombre es Pamela, estoy iniciƔndome en el aprendizaje de Discoveries, el aƱo pasado conocƭ Fundamentals, y me interesa poder aplicar mis enseƱanzas, muchas gracias
