Welcome to CS Principles: Introduce Yourself!

I’m Scott from Kansas. After doing the Hour of Code for many years in my math classes, I finally got the opportunity this year to teach a Computer Science course! Here we go!

My name is Vasilis Neofytou from Cyprus. I am a CS student and in the future, I will teach CS lessons in after-school lessons. I am also a Volunteer for schools and classrooms at Code.org and “Hour of Code”. Since 2021, every day I play games at code.org and I am sure that when Hour of Code week comes in the future, I will play with my kids and help them to learn new knowledge.

I make my own resources for “Hour of Code” and I hope to share them with you to take ideas. Also, I would like to be friends and share our resources for not only “Hour of Code” but for computer science.

Hope to be friends.

I like how the course is organised, and I find it an excellent pre-AP course.

Hello everyone, I am excited about teaching this class with the new changes.

  • Mr. Gregory
  • one group of 7th graders, the rest of my classes are 11th-12th
  • I’m most excited about my students optionally taking the AP exam.

Hello. My name is George Cadiente and I’m a high school teacher. I’m most excited about this curriculum and Code.org this year. Unfortunately, I cannot unlock anything because they have not verified me. This is tough because I already started school and am getting ready for the first pre-survey. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I’m sorry to hear that. Please write to support@code.org. The are very responsive.

Hello,

My name is Quinn Renehan. I’m a high school teacher in western MA.
I taught CSP for the first time last spring and I’ll be getting my second shot this fall.

A question I had is: Were any changes made to the curriculum from the 21-22 version, and if so, where can I find the specifics of those changes?

Hi Quinn! All changes to the curriculum can be found in the CSP '22-23 Changelog. This document can be found in the blue “Teacher Resources” dropdown of the CSP curriculum homepage.

Good luck to you and your students in the new school year!

Hello everyone! My name is Yolande van Zyl. I’ll be teaching Computer Science at our school next year to Year 11. Even though I’ve never taught Computer Science, I do have a strong background in ICT with a BCom and BComHONS degree in Informatics. I’ve worked in the industry for 14 years as programmer, designer, analyst and project manager, before taking up the challenge of teaching young people. I’m excited to teach students the importance of Computer Science, since the future absolutely depend on these skills!
